1. Information We Collect

Scripture Unlocked collects minimal information necessary to provide the service:

• Account data: If you sign in via Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from the provider. We store this to manage your account.
• Profile data: Optional first name, last name, and phone number you may provide during profile setup.
• Reading data: Bookmarks, reading history, and study preferences stored to personalize your experience.
• Study and usage data: Ask questions, generated answers, study context, feedback and feature interactions may be stored for service operation and quality review. Q&A analytics use a random browser identifier rather than your account ID. Text you enter can still identify you or someone else; please avoid including private details.
• Saved and shared studies: Studies you save are stored with your account for access across devices. Studies you choose to share are public, including their question and answer text. Sharing anonymously hides your public display name; it does not remove identifying details from the text.
• Device data: Standard technical data (device type, OS version) collected by our hosting provider.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information solely to:

• Provide answers and audio, manage account access and subscriptions, and make saved studies available across your devices
• Send account, trial and community-study notifications
• Improve app performance and content quality
• Understand which Bible studies and features are most helpful
• Diagnose technical issues

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

Scripture Unlocked uses the following third-party services:

• Anthropic Claude API: Powers AI-generated Bible commentary and Q&A. Text you submit for study is processed by Anthropic. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• ElevenLabs: Powers the "Listen" audio mode. Text is sent to ElevenLabs for text-to-speech conversion. See ElevenLabs' Privacy Policy.
• Supabase: Provides authentication and database storage for accounts, saved studies, shared studies and usage records.
• Voyage AI: Processes question text and relevant conversation context into search representations to retrieve study material.
• Payment services: Stripe, RevenueCat, Apple and Google process purchases and subscription status for the applicable platform.
• Resend: Processes recipient email addresses and message content to deliver account, trial and community-study notifications.
• Vercel: Hosts the app. Standard server logs may be retained per Vercel's policy.

4. Data Retention

Questions and answers recorded for Q&A analytics, saved studies and shared studies can remain on our servers after your session ends. Closing the app or signing out does not delete these records.

You can delete saved studies and request account deletion. Q&A analytics are stored separately under a browser identifier and are not automatically removed by account deletion. Contact us if you need help locating or deleting a question, answer or shared study. Copies that other people have already saved or shared may remain outside our control.

5. Children's Privacy

Scripture Unlocked is designed for general audiences including families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us immediately.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data. Visit our account deletion page or email us.

We will respond to all requests within 7 business days.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised date.
