The original Hebrew and Greek definitions behind every English word in the KJV. When you see a Strong's number in the study, it points you to what God actually said in the original language.
Important: We recommend the original Abingdon Press edition (ISBN 978-0687400317). Be aware that some newer editions published under the Strong's name have been altered from Dr. Strong's original work. A simple test: if your concordance defines “Kenite” only as “a smith” rather than “a son of Cain,” you may have a revised edition. The original Abingdon edition can be ordered from Shepherd's Chapel: (800) 643-4645.

A historical English reference for studying older word usage. Published in 1828, it is later than the 1611 KJV; its definitions and interpretations should be considered alongside the passage's context.
An American Dictionary of the English Language (1828) by Noah Webster. Text digitized and maintained by Akai Tsurugi (the source of CrossWire's Webster1828 module), is used under CC BY-SA 4.0. Changes we make: Scripture Unlocked converts formatting to plain text, removes duplicate entries, excludes about 100 legacy entries whose edition could not be verified, and has corrected individual entries against the original 1828 scans (for example, “meat”). Otherwise the definitions are used as published. The adapted dictionary text remains available under that same license; it is separate from the app's code.
This edition has over 62,000 headwords, with approximately 600 source entries still awaiting correction. Missing entries are shown honestly. Historical wording and source transcription issues may remain; a dictionary reference is not a verified quotation of Scripture.
Place locations and their confidence levels come from OpenBible.info Bible Geocoding Data, used under CC BY 4.0. Scripture Unlocked selects the places for each chapter and assigns its own certainty labels. Coastline shapes for the land-division scene come from the EarthByte Müller et al. (2019) plate model via the GPlates Web Service (CC BY 4.0), simplified. They are used as illustration only and are labeled Conjecture in the atlas. These sources do not endorse the app's interpretations.

Scripture Unlocked is built by Mark Wasmuth — a student of God's Word, not a pastor, not a scholar. Just a man who believes that every person should be able to open their Bible and understand what God said, without needing a middleman.
